Led by Àngels Arribas, a photograph and paper conservator with over twenty years of professional experience, Lumen brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to every project. From family photographs to major heritage collections, we understand the personal, historical, and cultural value photographs hold, and we aim to preserve both their material stability and their meaning.

Our expertise covers a wide range of photographic processes, from 19th-century daguerreotypes to modern digital images. Each project is approached with care, transparency, and respect for best conservation practice. Lumen Photographic Conservation is grounded in extensive professional training and experience, including work with national institutions, ensuring clients receive informed, reliable, and sensitive conservation solutions.

Àngels Arribas graduated in Fine Art Photography from the University of Barcelona and completed the Certificate Programme in Photographic Preservation at the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, New York. She also holds a Master of Arts in Conservation of Works of Art on Paper from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle. Àngels is a member of the American Institute for Conservation Photographic Materials Group, member of the Royal Photographic Society and a former committee member of Icon’s UK Photographic Materials Group. Prior to founding Lumen Photographic Conservation, she worked at the National Galleries of Scotland and in private photographic conservation practice.
